Hey everyone! My name is Rosalie. I am heartworm positive, but don’t let that deter you! I will be completely healthy again very soon. Since I have heartworm right now, I’m available through the foster to adopt program.

Hi I'm Rosalie!  My foster mom says I'm a Super cuddle monster and very sweet. I like to to curl up on her feet under the desk during the day. I Love car rides. I am a very smart girl and Know sit, come, down, go to your home (go to kennel), load in, load out,  and leave it.  I'm sure I could learn a ton more with my new family and lots of treats! I love Walks and do pretty well on a leash with only a little pulling, but watch out for those squirrels  because i will bolt to try and catch them.  I am fed in my kennel and go in there when its time. I bond very quickly with my people and absolutely LOVE humans! I am higher energy and need entertaining otherwise I find things to do that I shouldn't.  I will need an active family to burn off my energy. I enjoy chewing on nylabones too.  I scaled an 6’ chain link fence so I MUST be on leash at all times, there are just so many fun new things to explore. I will need a family dedicated to getting me the exercise I need and keeping me safe from running away. I currently live with bigger dogs and do well with them after a slow meeting, however I wouldn't mind being the only dog in the home, that way I would get all the attention. I don't prefer little dogs or cats, so none of those in my new family please. I do have  some food allergies and I'm currently on a grain free salmon based dog food that has been a huge improvement.

Since Rosalie is heartworm positive.  She will need to be treated in at our clinic in St Cloud.

Heartworm treatment consists of 3 injections. The first injection will be in roughly 30 days after coming into rescue. The the 2nd and 3rd injections happen 30 days after that. When a dog is going through heartworm treatment, they should be on "restrictions", meaning a lot of lap time, crate time and always on a leash. Heartworm disease is NOT contagious, it is transported via mosquitos.

Here is a great article explaining what heartworm is and how it's treated:

An adoption application is the first step in the foster to adopt program.
