Hey everyone! My name is Iggy and I’m super excited to meet you! I’ve been living in Minneapolis for the last six months. I'm a very good boy and I love everyone I meet, but I get too excited around cats and because of this my owner needs to find me a new home. A little more about me - I came from Texas originally where I was called Chong, but Iggy is my preferred name. I am a 49 pound, 1+ year old , Blue Heeler/Pitbull mix, with a little bit of German Shepard, too. That must be where I get my ears! I am a high energy dog and I need to walk or run every day for at least an hour. Sometimes I get to go on two long walks or runs a day! And I walk very nicely on a leash attached to my harness. I also enjoy going to doggy daycare a couple of times a week. My daycare is great and they know to put me in a room with other dogs like me who like to play rough! I also live with my dog sister and we play and play all day and it is the best. I would do best in a home with another dog or multiple dogs that like to play! Iggy would also do well as an only dog if he gets enough exercise and attention from his humans. I also enjoy playing fetch and tug in my fenced in yard where I enjoy spending as much time as possible. Even though I’m a medium sized dog I have a big bark. Because of this I will do best in a home without shared walls. If I keep living in the city a privacy fence would help a lot, or living out in the country would be great too. The other thing to know about me is that I want to be by your side all the time, and after a long walk there is nothing more than I want to sleep in your lap. I am the best cuddler. I am very, very affectionate and I give the most gentle kisses. Even though I love to cuddle, I don’t like being grabbed at or handled by my collar or harness. If you try to grab me I might show you show my teeth to let you know I'm a little afraid, but I’m getting better and learning to be less reactive through positive reinforcement with treats. Because of this I would probably do best in a home with no kids under 12 years old. I have completed basic and advanced training and my mom tells me I’m very smart. She thinks I would enjoy agility or other advanced training too. Are you active and ready to cuddle? I can’t wait to meet you!
