Nigel is a  dream dog.   He is  SO sweet .  He has been   kind and loving to everyone  he has met. Literally melting into their leg to get loving.  There is not a dog he does not like.  He is still a puppy but really has not  exhibited too many negaitive puppy behavior- ie he does not  chew things and he  has not had any accidents in the house. In  fact he can hold is bladder for an extremely long time.
He enjoys walks but he is  afraid of moving cars.  I do not think he has had any formal obedience training but he is picking  stuff up  very quickly.  Many things in life to Nigel seem to still be  new and he is timid, often  crouching in a down position  to try to avoid them,  but once he has  experienced  them he comes around to  just being an excited dog.  He had not been in  a petco store  previously   the  auto doors and  the linoleum scared him alot but  we  used treats and  he  made it through.  I think by the end he was enjoying himself there.  Nigel does feel that he  gets to sit on the couches with his people but we are working on that.
Nigel has been in foster care for  3 weeks  and he has come along way.   He was   timid and afraid of everything when he came to us  but now he is doing  fantastic.   He has learned  sit, down, leave it,  no, and  come. He learned the boundaries of  our invisible fence  and he is timid enough that  he will not challenge those boundaries.   He is struggling with stay but he is very cute   wriggling his whole body while his tail wags  and  he " sneaks up" to you.  We have not been able to get Nigel to go up or down  our stairs. He will do set of small steps  but I can not  get him up a big  stairway.     Nigel likes everyone that he meets however he would do best in a home without infants or toddlers  as he does not like  things  unpredictable .  At our house  when he has had enough craziness (kids are  3 and 4) he takes himself  into a room by himself .
Nigel has learned to chew on rawhides and  treats  but is still not chewing on shoes etc.  Sometimes he does  " gather " them.    About  1 time a week Ill find a couple of shoes that he has collected  in his bed  but that is  all he does with them- collect.  We can go on walks with Nigel on or off of the lead and he does not run away but  he  does  go and meet other dogs people etc on the way.
