This animal is a part of our "Seniors for Seniors" program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt a pet at a discounted fee.

Goldie came from a hoarding situation and it is clear he didn't have much interaction with people and because of that, he is very fearful. Luckily he is not aggressive and doesn't hiss or swat. He prefers to hide, typically in higher places and in closets. When approached he does cower and run away.

He has shown a little progress in the month with his foster family. He seems to like cardboard scratchers, looking out the window and fish-flavored treats and food, but he typically only enjoys these things when people are nowhere in sight. He is good at using his litter box, as well. He seems to be good with other cats as long as they are calm and respectful.

Goldie is cat that will need a lot of time and patience and someone willing to meet him where he is most comfortable and who understands he may not ever be a lap cat.

If you are interested in getting to know me better, please fill out an adoption application at www.ruffstartrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
