Hey everyone! My name is Bruce Lee. I am heartworm positive, but don’t let that deter you! I will be completely healthy again very soon. Since I have heartworm right now, I’m available through the foster to adopt program.
A little bit about me! I am a mini shepherd mix. I'm a very friendly guy who loves to play with everyone, every dog and every thing. I love toys and like to chew on them, so nylabones are a must! I am also good at knowing my boundaries with other dogs and respect if they don’t want to play. I do get mouthy when I play and need someone to show me that play biting is not so much fun. I am learning not to jump up on my people when im excited. I have basic training but will need a family who will help me learn much more. I am a very playful happy go lucky guy who needs an active family to wear me out. I will play non stop from morning till night. I am crate trained and sleep in there all night. I am mostly potty trained so will just need some consistency and a re-fresher and ill have that down. I am leashed trained and do pretty well on it. I also know how to use a doggie door! I'm a smart, playful guy looking for my forever home, are you it?
Since Bruce Lee is heartworm positive he will need to be treated in at our clinic in St Cloud.
Heartworm treatment consists of 3 injections. The first injection will be in roughly 30 days after coming into rescue. The the 2nd and 3rd injections happen 30 days after that. When a dog is going through heartworm treatment, they should be on "restrictions", meaning a lot of lap time, crate time and always on a leash. Heartworm disease is NOT contagious, it is transported via mosquitos.
