Hi guys, my name is Chowda!
If you’re looking for a fluffy ball of energy, look no further! I’m a bouncy guy who loves toys, wrestling and pretty much anything active. If you’re looking for a running or hiking partner, I’m your man. Hyper is my middle name.
I love playing with my foster brother. We will wrestle and play around for hours. I like rough play that might be too much for a puppy or smaller dog. While I love my brother, it takes me a while to warm up to new dogs. Slow intros are a must. I am not a dog park dog. My interactions with other pups need to be carefully monitored until we become friends.
Sometimes I get jealous of my brother when he gets too close to our mom, I want her all to myself. We are working on it and I’m getting better at sharing her. However, I should either be the only animal in the house, or have parents who are familiar with resource guarding and willing to work with me.
I love my humans so much. I want to be close to them and give them lots of cuddles and kisses. I like to sleep right between their heads at night. I’m hoping I go to a home where they will also let me sleep in the bed. I am such a loyal boy, I will be your very best friend.
I’m working on potty training. I know outside is the right place to go, but sometimes I like to sneak away and go somewhere naughty. But I’ve gotten a lot better and have been doing this less and less. I know basic commands like sit and lay, and yes, I do respond to Chowda . I have a lot of energy and love spending lots of time outside, because of this, I really need a house with a fenced yard.
I am such a special boy and I can’t wait to find my forever home!

All Ruff Start dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention (dogs) as well as heartworm tested (dogs).
Ruff Start Rescue is a foster based rescue. Animals are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a facility where animals are kept.
