Hi there, my name is Zayda! I'm just a pup who has truly had a Ruff Start to life. I came from a reservation in South Dakota with a severely injured leg. They assumed I'd have to have my leg amputated but since I seem to be healing pretty well and I'm starting to put weight on it again, it's suspected I'll make a full recovery. I don't let my leg slow me down one bit, I'm still a very playful energetic puppy! I love playing with all the toys with my foster mom and then settling down for some cuddles with her afterwards. I can be what she calls "mouthy" and need someone to keep teaching me what is appropriate to chew on and what is not (I'm told hands and feet are not good chew toys but they are currently my favorite).
I'm a little wary of new people, new sights and new sounds but with the help of my doggie foster brother I'm learning that new people and things aren't out to get me. I'm particularly wary of men at first. I definitely need a confident doggie sibling in my adoptive home! Preferably one who is up for my puppy antics. No kitties for me though, I really want to chase the cats who live here so I'm kept separate from them. I also need a home without children since I'm mouthy and I'm startled easily.
I have a lot to learn as a puppy! Like manners and basic obedience. But I have a pretty good start and I'm very treat motivated so with consistent training and positive reinforcement I'll be a great puppy in no time.
I promise if you take a chance on me I'll love you forever! I just need someone who can help show me the good life. Will you be my happily ever after?
