Meet Betse-Lou, a gentle sweetheart who loves being with her people. She recently had puppies and is now ready for all of the love! She would be happy to sit or snuggle up next to you for ear scratches and pets for hours and loves joining you in whatever project or activity you are doing. With her moderate energy, she enjoys being outside, chasing squirrels or running around. She is still learning to walk on a leash, but just running around a fenced in yard will tire her out all the same.

Betse-Lou loves to sleep in her doggie bed at the foot of her foster parents’ bed and sleeps through the night. She is house trained and has not had any accidents. While she will go into and stay in her crate, a home where people are often around would make her very happy.

With her gentle nature, Betse-Lou is wonderful with children, but her natural prey instinct is strong such that she would not be able to be in a home with a cat. She seems to get along with other larger dogs, but seems to want to chase smaller ones. Her natural protective instinct will alert you to strangers or other dogs, but once she knows that you are OK with them, she calms down pretty quickly and enjoys pets from her new friends.

Betse-Lou will need someone that is committed to working on training. While she knows a few commands, there is lot of room for growth in this area. Further, a fenced in yard would be ideal for her, and a doggy door – even better!

This beauty has captured our hearts and will be a fabulous new fur family member.
