Hey there, my name is Hellie. I am a cute little lady who was found as a stray in Central Minnesota. My finders tried to find my owners but they never came to find me, so I ended up in rescue instead!

My fosters believe that, in my past life, I lived primarily outside, where I was found. I am loving having a constant food source and a warm place to snuggle everyday! At first I was not used to being in contact with people who wanted to be my friend so I was a little reactive, but now I really like the attention and nudge my foster family's hands so they pet me as well as purr and lick them with lots of love! I am a really sweet girl and I absolutely just LOOOVE cuddling with my foster papa.

In my adoptive home, I need an understanding adopter who has experience with kitties. As sweet as I can be with my people, I wouldn't make a good first cat for most, because you really need to understand cat body language to know how to best communicate with me. I promise I'm not scary! Change is just really difficult for me, and I can get overstimulated pretty easily. When I get overstimulated or scared, I will sometimes nip or swat in an attempt to let you know I have had enough.

A few things about me: I really do not like being constrained to small spaces like kennels or enclosed bathrooms, but since I moved to a bedroom with a view, I am liking life a lot more! I also, at this point, don't like other animals or children because they smell strange, move quickly, and don't understand sometimes I just need my own space. My foster family is going to try to introduce me to their other animals again soon, so maybe I'll come around. I love to play with my wand and I'm VERY food motivated, so if you want to be my friend, that's the best way! I'd do pretty much anything for treats!

If you would like to find out more about me or are interested in adopting me, please fill out an adoption application at www.ruffstartrescue.org.

An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal.
