Hi, my name is Moose! My foster mom likes to give me silly nicknames like "Moosey Goose."
I'm looking for a fur-ever home with my sister Marlee! Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
Before I came to my foster home, Marlee and I lived with a very nice lady who found us in the woods with some other kitties. Although it's not 100% known that we are sisters, Marlee and I sure do look alike! I have a beautiful, long black coat, and it's super soft! My sister, however, has a very shiny & soft, short-haired, black coat.
I am a very sweet and affectionate girl who LOVES to be around my other kitty friends. I was kind of shy for the first few days in my foster home, but once I settled in, I became very outgoing!
My favorite things to do are wrestle with my kitty friends, play with toys (especially string!), and cuddle next to you on the couch. I am super curious, and now that I've warmed up, I want to be next to my foster mom and dad 24/7! I follow them everywhere, and I even sleep with them at night. You probably would be happy to know that I sleep all through the night instead of running around the house like a maniac!
You should also know that I love to eat, and I use my litter box like a champ! I also have really good manners for a kitten --- I don't bite or scratch at any furniture I'm not supposed to (but rugs don't count...).
My foster family includes a mom & a dad, but most importantly, other kitties! Along with Marlee, I live with 3 other cats (2 siblings that are 6 months old & a pretty grumpy 7 years old). The older cat doesn't like me very much, but I respect her space. I love to play with my other cat friends though! Since I'm a little shy, I would probably do best in a home with older children that can be respectful when I need my own space. I've never been around dogs before, but since I do so well with other cats, a respectful dog might be my new best friend!
If you think you've got the right home for me and my sister, we would love to meet you!

We highly encourage adopting kittens in pairs for their emotional and behavioral well-being. It is an amazing experience to watch the lifelong bond that forms and that you get to be a part of. We are not trying to push more kittens out the door. If you are thinking of adopting a single kitten we want to prepare you for behaviors you will almost certainly see and have only the kittens’ best interest at heart, and your satisfaction as an adopter and pet parent. At Ruff Start Rescue part of our mission involves education and we would like to make sure you are making an informed decision and hopefully avoiding any issues that can come up. Here is a link to more information on Tarzan Syndrome (Single Kitten Syndrome) and another on the benefits of adopting kittens in pairs.
An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal.
Please check out our website, www.ruffstartrescue.org for more details and additional pictures on any of our animals!
