Hi, I’m Taters!  I am so excited to be learning the ropes of living in a home, with people! My siblings and I were found outside under a big hosta plant this fall. When it got too cold to be outdoors any more, a kind lady took us into her porch. Then we traveled to our foster home where we are getting lots of love and socialization! I am the bravest, sweetest little man - I may be the runt of the litter, but I have the biggest heart! I have always loved food and toys (of course!) and now I’ve learned that it’s awesome to get pets and scritches from my foster mom! I will start purring right away and roll right over for tummy rubs - I love affection, and seek it out on my own frequently! I’m not used to being picked up yet, but I love to come get in your lap when you are sitting down. I also love, love, love playing with toys! I play with gusto, and have even done a couple backflips in my eagerness to grab that wand toy! My foster mom says I’m very entertaining and I always make sure she gets enough laughs every day. I still have my shy moments where I get startled by something and need some recovery time - I didn’t get much human interaction for the first part of my life so I’m still working on getting totally comfortable. I bounce back quickly, especially if you turn on my favorite electronic cat toy - I can’t resist the Petlinks Mystery Motion toy! It would be helpful if my forever family had an existing cat who would welcome me into the fold - I think that would give me a great confidence boost and help me in learning the ropes! Hope to meet you soon!
Love,

Taters

We highly encourage adopting kittens in pairs for their emotional and behavioral well-being.  It is an amazing experience to watch the lifelong bond that forms and that you get to be a part of. We are not trying to push more kittens out the door.   If you are thinking of adopting a single kitten we want to prepare you for behaviors you will almost certainly see and have only the kittens’ best interest at heart, and your satisfaction as an adopter and pet parent. At Ruff Start Rescue part of our mission involves education and we would like to make sure you are making an informed decision and hopefully avoiding any issues that can come up. Here is a link to more information on Tarzan Syndrome (Single Kitten Syndrome) and another on the benefits of adopting kittens in pairs.

An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal.

Please check out our website, www.ruffstartrescue.org for more details and additional pictures on any of our animals!

All Ruff Start dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention (dogs) as well as heartworm tested (dogs).

Ruff Start Rescue is a foster based rescue. Animals are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a facility where animals are kept.
