Hello, Smooch here!  My 4 siblings and I were found with our mom when we were just a week old living on a reservation. We were all taken into rescue to be able to live the good life, My siblings and mom were all adopted but I have some medical issues we needed to get under control first. Around 4 weeks old when my brothers and sisters started walking I was not, I was the smallest of the group by far, my siblings being triple my weight and my brothers even estimated to be over 100lbs when full grown. As the others grew and developed I did not. After being seen at a few normal doctors they recommended I go to a specialist.    The neurologist diagnosed me with suspected congenital  Myasthenia Gravis. However, I was put on an antibiotic trial for a month and examined every 2 weeks. Based on my great improvements with the antibiotic the vet now thinks I may have had something infectious from that first week when we were outside before rescue that may have caused my neurological issues. I was on antibiotics for a long time to fight off this suspected infection and I am doing very well now.

I do have a number of orthopedic issues as well, I have luxating patellas in both my back legs and  in my front legs I have angular limb deformities in both my elbows.

These issues do not slow me down any and I get around very well. Its possible in the future I may need surgical correction for these issues or medical intervention, so something adopters will need to be willing to take on. I will have a higher chance of getting arthritis as I age so I am taking joint supplements to help.

Due to my special needs my forever home does need to have the following:

* No Shared walls, I am talkative

* No or very limited stairs, Mom or dad that can carry me over the few stairs

* Another dog in the home around my size. I love all dogs but get scared when the big dogs try to play rough with me. I have never been without a dog in the home and my foster parents do not think I would do well without one.

* A Family that is able to provide me with more than normal vet care/visits as needed for my legs.

* A family who is okay that I will not be a good exercise partner.

My foster family loves me very much and we have been through a lot of scary hard times together with my health. I have grown into such a wonderful, fun, loving, brave, strong puppy. I am obsessed with toys and my mom's toes. I have the cutest overbite. My attempt at running is the cutest little gallops and leaps you will ever see. I love to lay in the sun while chewing on sticks and run after the ball my mom kicks around for me.

I am kennel trained, my fosters keep me in there when they are away from the home or overnight. I do great in there and even go in on my own. I also like to sleep in bed with my mom.

I am potty trained as well and go out every few hours.

A home with older kids or no kids would be best as I am shy and pretty mouthy still with play being I am just a baby.

An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal.
