Hey everyone! My name is Asher.

I'm calm, quiet, and a little guy just looking for a place to call home.  Once I get to know you, I enjoy snuggling on laps. I came all the way up to MN from TX.

My foster family describe me as the perfect house guest.  They say I’m a good listener, easy going and low maintenance. What more can you ask for?

I am shy around kids and anyone new at first. But, who isn’t when in a new place and with new people.  Slow intros are always recommended. I’m currently bunking with other dogs and I am good with them. I tend to observe and take everything in. Oh, there is a cat in the house too who I like. I do enjoy a daily walk even though it might be short due to my restrictions during treatment. Bonus...I’m leash trained and I feel comfortable and content in my kennel/crate.  I do have this thing called heartworm, but dont let that fool you, I will be as good as new as soon as I get treated!

Heartworm Treatment info:

Heartworm treatment consists of 3 injections. The first injection will be in roughly 30 days after coming into rescue. The the 2nd and 3rd injections happen 30 days after that. When a dog is going through heartworm treatment, they should be on "restrictions", meaning a lot of lap time, crate time and always on a leash.

Heartworm disease is NOT contagious, it is transported via mosquitos.

Here is a great article explaining what heartworm is and how it's treated:  https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics

An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal.
