Hello, my name is Kierna, which means, little dark haired one. I came into the rescue alone as a stray found on the side of the road. I was estimated at 5 weeks old but only the size of a 2-3 week old kitten. I was considered a ‘bottle baby’ but to everyone’s surprise, I drank formula from a dish vs a bottle. I was sick with an upper respiratory infection and needed antibiotics. I finally felt better and was able to have my surgery but then the stress of surgery made me sick again. I had to take more medicine. Yuck! Finally, I’m done with my meds and feeling amazing. Now I just need to find my forever family and home. I’m feeling better, gaining weight and acting like a typical kitten. I do great around other kitties. I really like dogs, preferably large dogs. I really need another furry friend in the home with me. I’m petite for my age but don’t let that fool you. I like to play strong, curl up for a nap to refresh and then do it all again.
In the meantime if you have questions or are interested in me, please fill out an adoption application at www.ruffstartrescue.org.
We highly encourage adopting kittens in pairs for their emotional and behavioral well-being. It is an amazing experience to watch the lifelong bond that forms and that you get to be a part of. We are not trying to push more kittens out the door. If you are thinking of adopting a single kitten we want to prepare you for behaviors you will almost certainly see and have only the kittens’ best interest at heart, and your satisfaction as an adopter and pet parent. At Ruff Start Rescue part of our mission involves education and we would like to make sure you are making an informed decision and hopefully avoiding any issues that can come up. Here is a link to more information on Tarzan Syndrome (Single Kitten Syndrome) and another on the benefits of adopting kittens in pairs.
An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal.
